To tell people to just start? To try unorthodox things at work? To share thoughts on productivity, perfectionism, and persistence?
Who am I trying to be? Who am I pretending to be? Who do I think I am?
These are the questions that have held me back. Held me back from publishing my own thoughts. On my own site. A space I created. A space I owned. A space I was somehow scared of.
These doubts didn’t just hold me back creatively. They held me back in my career. In my craft.
I'm just some guy
The answer? I’m just some guy.
Some guy with some scars, some triumphs, and some thoughts. Someone who started sharing those thoughts—first with others, and now, here.
That’s it. It doesn’t need to be more than that.
Honestly expressing yourself
Over a decade ago, I saw an interview with Bruce Lee (Pierre Burton show, 1971). He talked about the importance of honestly expressing yourself. To always be yourself.
At the time, those words hit me harder than I expected. Hearing that kind of clarity from someone I looked up to—my childhood hero—awoken something in me. To see how he changed the world by being himself. So... Maybe being honest with myself could help me do something good too.
Since then, I’ve been on a journey to figure out what that really means. What I value. How I express myself. How I show up. And how every action (or inaction) needs to answer to those values.
Slowly, I’ve let go of the self-imposed pressure (and burden) to be like someone else.
And instead, I’ve started the work of being myself.
I'm just me
So… who am I?
I’m just some guy. I’m just me. Sharing my thoughts and experiences.
That’s it. It doesn’t need to be more than that.
If you’re here to listen—great. If you got some value—Amazing! And if not? That’s okay too!
